Our History – Our Tent and the Jimmie & Joyce Dobbs Center
In 1962, 63 Years ago, our Founding Pastors Jimmie & Joyce Dobbs had a vision for a church that would be a lighthouse on the westside of Jacksonville. After Pastors Jimmie & Joyce Dobbs found the property on Commonwealth Ave, they envisioned a church that would reach many. As they had the property, they put them a tent on the property and held many revival services while church was being built and many people were saved. Once the building was built thousands came to see and hear Pastor Jimmie Dobbs preach the word of God and be saved, healed and delivered from many afflictions under his ministry.

Here are a few pictures of Founding Pastor Jimmie Dobbs and the First Lady Joyce Dobbs.

None of this couldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for our Founding Fore Fathers who helped pave the way to what we are today. These Fore Fathers prayed, interceded, helped pay for building supplies, cleaned, held fundraisers. They did many things you wouldn’t know they did to help continue Pastor Jimmie Dobbs vision. These are just a few of our Founding Fore Fathers.

In 1972, Pastor Jimmie Dobbs was ordained and was installed as the Associate Pastor of the Paxon Revival Center Church to preach along side his father & Today Pastors Steve & Willene Dobbs continues that vision today with a sanctuary known as the International Center which holds thousands in the sanctuary.

Just like Pastors Jimmie & Joyce Dobbs, He had a vision for a sanctuary of his own that would continue the legacy and vision of his father Jimmie Dobbs. In the year 2002, we moved into the sanctuary and have seen the multitudes and multitudes of people saved, healed and delivered and still going strong. Recently our Pastors Steve & Willene Dobbs celebrated 53 years as Pastors of the Paxon Revival Center Church.

Today Paxon Revival Center Church continues to hold the same services Pastor Jimmie Dobbs did with three Sunday services, Wednesday Night & Friday morning services. The church reaches the community through outreaches including food and clothing ministry. There are outreach ministries going out every weekend passing out flyers, water, and praying for individuals who need prayer. Paxon continues to do what God wants them to do and that is to reach the lost.
